Building an Acadian forest Landscapers work with nature in Nova Scotia & beyond
In the fall of 2005, HNH's Rosmarie Bradley joined forces with the
Bluenose Coastal Action Foundation
as well as
Bayview Community School. Together, they transformed an abandoned bus-loop circle into
a vibrant outdoor classroom - a micro Acadian Forest.
It is home to wild flowers, vegetables, trees and a riparian zone - specialized, adaptable plants live in the
transition space between water and land. The open-air classroom is accessible through decking, ramps and a plank boardwalk.
