In 2007, Bradley Lohnes had two pivotal introductions. First, she met Sue Sirrs, a Halifax-based landscape architect known across North American for her expertise in living walls and green roofs. After his Inconvenient Truth presentation in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, she met Al Gore foot soldier John Bullard.

The following year the three began working together on a project for John and Laura Bullard's new home along the shore - the goal was to earn Platinum LEED certification - the program's highest ranking.

"I strive to learn from Nature many of her techniques," enthuses Bradley, "so I can help you reach your goals in a responsible manner, mimicking nature to restore, renovate and re-create your landscapes."

"Helping Nature Heal - the name says it all," notes Bullard. "We were building a house in the forest - there was a huge wound in the forest. A huge scar. That's the first thing that happens on a building site."
The Bullards named Rosmarie & her partner in business and life Greg Lohnes 'Running with Wheelbarrow' after watching in amazement as the pair, starting at 7am, ran for the next eight or nine hours. The result? Over 1000 plants small and large that will look more beautiful with each passing year.
The couple were concerned with erosion - HNH stabilized with plants. As well, they created lovely pathways meandering through the forest. Three deer walking - and honouring the paths' boundaries testifies to the success of their efforts. "Because of [their] work," says Bullard, "the house will rejoin the natural forest over time."
